Ajax Youth Academy

Since the establishment of Ajax Cape Town the club’s policy of "No Youth No Future" has paid dividends and made the rest of local professional football sit up a take notice when players from the Urban Warriors soon made their way to Europe. Ever since the transfer of Steven Pienaar from Ajax Cape Town to Ajax Amsterdam the pathway to the larger football stages in Europe is well worn. The likes of Daylon Claasen, Bryce Moon, Terror Fanteni, Nathan Paulse and Stanton Lewis taking the high road to Europe. While the focus was on the European transfers the Ajax Youth Academy made its mark producing approximately 73 players at an average of seven players a year to professional football in South Africa. A large percentage of these players represented South Africa at junior and senior levels thereby contributing to providing a lager pool of players for our national selectors to choose from. The success of the Ajax Cape Town Youth Academy has set the mark for clubs to follow with 17 players in the 26-man Ajax Cape Town PSL squad.
