The Absa Premiership will wrap up round 24 in the 2016/17 season this evening with three matches across the country.

Though Ajax Cape Town will not be in action, they will still be a keeping a close eye on at least two of the games.

The Cape Town City v Bidvest Wits match and Tshwane derby between SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns would seemingly hold little interest for the Urban Warriors, given that all four teams are well above them on the log.

However, the United v ‘Downs match is definitely one coach Stanley Menzo will be watching closely, with Ajax’s next match set to be against the latter side.

Menzo will certainly be running the rule over Pitso Mosimane’s side ahead of his team’s match against the reigning league champions next Tuesday (25 April).

Another clash which could have a tangible effect on Ajax’s standing on the log is the meeting of Polokwane City and Platinum Stars in Limpopo.

Eleventh-placed Stars are currently just one point and one place behind Ajax on the log and a win or draw for the Rustenburg side would see the Urban Warriors drop out of the top 10.
