Ajax Cape Town attacking midfielder Toriq Losper has returned to training and can’t wait to take to the field for the club once again.
The 24-year-old has been out of action for over six months, having picked up a meniscal injury to his left knee last year.
‘Tokkie’ continues to make steady progress and is hopeful that he will get some game time before the end of the 2016-17 Absa Premiership season.
“I am really hungry to come back, I have been out for six months…I started full training on Tuesday so I am just fighting to get back to full fitness, to get back into the team as soon as possible,” Losper told the SABC.
“The team is in a bad position at the moment, knowing that I can possibly bring my side is a boost – hopefully I will be back soon.
Losper continued: “I am still getting used to the new players who I haven’t even played with due to my injury, but I am confident I will be able to strike up a few combinations.
“There is a fire burning inside of me to get back on the field, I am just doing my best to help the team. We are taking every game as a cup final,” he concluded.
Ajax Cape Town next face Highlands Park at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday evening, in what is a crucial clash for both teams.
