We take a closer look at three key battles which could decide the Absa Premiership clash between SuperSport United and Ajax Cape Town on Saturday evening.

Reneilwe Letsholonyane v Ndiviwe Mdabuka

‘Yeye’ has had a new lease of life since his move to SuperSport United and is enjoying a great twilight period in his career. He will have to work hard to keep pace with Ajax’s energetic midfield dynamo Ndiviwe Mdabuka, who has improved in great strides through the season and will be looking to put in another powerful performance.

Dean Furman v Mark Mayambela

Furman underlined his value to United with a winning goal at Highlands Park in their last match, but it is his defensive work which he is really renowned for. The man looking to bet the better of him and create scoring chances for his Ajax teammates will be Mark Mayambela. If the former Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic man can dominate his opponent, it will set the visitors up for a victory.

Clayton Daniels v Nathan Paulse

Nathan Paulse has re-established himself as Ajax’s spearhead in attack and scored a fine goal against Kaizer Chiefs last weekend. Paulse’s aerial power and physical prowess make him a tough man to handle, but in Clayton Daniels Matsatsantsa have an experienced defender who is always that little bit more motivated when he faces his former team.
