We aim for three points - de Haan
Ajax Cape Town has set their sights on maximum points when they face Mpumalanga Black Aces at the Boland Stadium on Saturday, 06 March 2010.
The battle lines are drawn as both teams need a win. Ajax needs a win to secure their top eight position and for Aces they need a win to secure their PSL status.
The pressure will be on Aces as they are just one point above Cosmos who are in last place on the PSL standings. Should Cosmos beat Swallows in their last game and Aces lose, then Black Aces will be in that dreaded automatic relegation position.
However Ajax Cape Town is in no mood to do any favours because they have Swallows breathing down their necks just two adrift, while Amazulu could overtake Swallows if they get their desired result.
Ajax Cape Town coach Foppe de Haan said, “We are aiming for three points on Saturday because then we finish in fifth position, a great way to end the season considering the challenges we faced along the way.
My players are committed to finishing this season with a win. They have worked hard during the break and since then the players are playing the kind of football that I like. They understand what is expected from their play and how I would like them to play the game.”
So the scene is set for an intriguing final day of the 2009 – 2010 season and the Urban Warriors will be looking to end this season on a high, to set the tone for the defence of their Telkom Knockout title starting next week.
