Champs draw Swallows in Telkom Knockout
The Telkom Knockout 2010 was launched at a function in Johannesburg on Monday 01 March, 2010 and a number of appealing games was drawn out of the hat.
The reigning champions, Ajax Cape Town was drawn to play against Moroka Swallows and a delighted Ajax coach Foppe de Haan found the challenge to his liking.
Foppe said, “I believe we got a good draw from the hat. We do believe that Moroka Swallows will give us good motivation to defend our title.”
Brett Evans the Ajax captain said, “They are a quality opposition and I believe that we can overcome this difficult first hurdle. We played well against Swallows on each occasion this season and defensive errors cost us the game, however cup games are different and we have proved ourselves capable of going all the way.
Playing at home in the opening round is motivating for our players as the fans will be the 12th player like they were at the final last season, concluded Evans.”
The game is scheduled for Sunday March 14, 2010 at Newlands Stadium. The game starts at 15h00.
