Having enjoyed almost two decades of success at Ajax Cape Town, one could forgive Nathan Paulse if he was ever caught reminiscing about the past, but the burly forward is not content on looking back at past glory just yet.
The 34-year-old has continued to form an integral part of the Ajax Cape Town set up and is now looking forward to a memorable second half of the 2016-17 Premier Soccer League season.
Following two rounds playing for the MultiChoice Diski Challenge team, Paulse returned to first team action in a 2-0 friendly match win over Cape Town All Stars at Parow Park this past weekend.
“It is good to back, hopefully in the second round of fixtures I can get some more game time,” Paulse said. “I am still the top scorer at the club this season and hopefully I can add to that.
Paulse is closing in on 250 games for the Urban Warriors, but the forward is not thinking about milestones as he intends on still donning Ajax colours for many years to come.
“No, I haven’t looked back yet at how many games I’ve played or goals I’ve scored, I just enjoy every single day that I am still able to play and give my all,” Paulse added.
He continued: “I am not done yet, even though people might look at my age – I am still fit and hungry, I don’t look back, I look forward…I’m looking forward to maybe another 250 games, who knows?”
