Ajax Cape Town’s exciting teenage prospect ,Grant Margeman, says his game has improved under first team head coach Stanley Menzo.
The 18-year-old midfielder fired the Urban Warriors into the lead in their 1-1 stalemate with Polokwane City, in an Absa Premiership game on this past Saturday.
This was Margeman’s second league goal of the season – having also hit the back of the net during the narrow 2-1 defeat to Highlands Park two months ago.
“It felt amazing scoring my second goal of the season,” said Margeman.
“The more games I’m playing I’m getting stronger, both physically and mentally,” the Cape Town-born starlet added.
“I’m starting to read the game better, and understanding what the coach wants from me.”
The promising youngster, who was nurtured in the Ajax academy, has made nine Absa Premiership appearances thus far in what is his debut season.
Margeman’s impressive displays for Ajax have not gone unnoticed as he has subsequently been included in the South Africa Under-20 squad for the 2017 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.
The continental tournament will be hosted by Zambia between 26 February – 12 March. South Africa are in Group B along with Cameroon, Senegal and Sudan.
