Ajax Cape Town in partnership Pick n Pay embarked on a massive community drive using soccer as a vehicle to empower our youth with knowledge of the many opportunities available to them in sport, in their social environment and enhance the lives of the future leaders of South Africa via the Ajax Cape Town Community Scheme.

This project is activated  across the Cape Flats and Township areas even as far as the Cape Winelands, to children regardless of race, gender, social status or disability.  The Ajax Cape Town Community Scheme project is facilitated through structured programmes in a safe, fun, learning environment.

The project involves seven different schemes of which two are Primary School based.  The first one is Kick ‘n Learn. This is a six week course performed during school hours.  We will visit each school once a week for one hour.  The hour will be broken up into 30 min workshop, and 30 min football clinic.

Each week the subject of the workshop will change e.g. drugs, aids, smoking.  We will have two coaches working in different schools with 25/30 kids.  Each coach will work at two schools per morning Mon-Wed.

The second scheme is Soccer Samba Skills.  This is a six week course that takes place in Primary Schools after school hours.  Both coaches will visit one school a day Mon-Wed for an hour of pure soccer coaching.  They will work with 30/40 kids teaching them the fundamental aspects of soccer.

The Ajax Cape Town Community Scheme has already been rolled-out at the following schools to name a few; EA Janari Primary, Cedar Primary, Bergsig Primary, John Pama Primary, St. Mary's Primary, Liwa Primary, Nomlinganiselo Primary, Lantana Primary, Meadow Ridge Primary, Cornflower Primary, Hyacinth Primary, Norma Road Primary, Sunnyside Primary, Silverlea Primary and Bokmakierie Primary
Since its inception, the Ajax Cape Town Community Scheme has been implemented in more than 120 schools across the Western Cape as far as the Cape Winelands, reaching more than 8 000 children. This program is the cornerstone of Ajax building its support in the local community and providing young players a chance to interact with Ajax players and coaches alike.

The Ajax Cape Town Community Scheme is endorsed by SAPS, the British High Commission, the Metropolitan Police of London and Charlton Athletic Football Club.
