SuperSport United defender Clayton Daniels has witnessed clear signs of improvement in Ajax Cape Town’s play this season, with the Absa Premiership table toppers set to welcome the Urban Warriors to the Lucas Moripe Stadium this weekend.
Matsatsantsa haven’t lost a league game since the opening round of the 2016-17 campaign with the Tshwane club climbing back to the summit of the league with victory over Highlands Park this past weekend.
Next up for Stuart Baxter’s men is an Ajax Cape Town outfit searching for their first win of 2017, having narrowly missed out on victory in their past two encounters.
Having taken the lead against both Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City, Stanley Menzo’s troops were unable to hold onto their advantage with both games ending in 1-1 draws.
The Urban Warriors now set their sights on toppling SuperSport United, but it will be no easy task, with the Tshwane club flying high. Daniels, though, insists that Matsatsantsa will not be taking, what he believes is a very unpredictable team, lightly.
“Ajax is a team that will always rise to the occasion,” Daniels told Kick-Off.com. “This is also what makes them so unpredictable and so dangerous.
“They’ve shown clear signs of improvement and are not to be underestimated. It will be vital for us to remind ourselves of the importance of every game and Ajax is one of them.”
The 32-year-old launched his professional career at Ikamva, before going on to represent Mamelodi Sundowns, Bloemfontein Celtic and currently SuperSport United in South Africa’s top-flight.
