Ajax Cape Town’s focus this week will fall on preparations for their Absa Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, February 25.
The Urban Warriors secured their first league point of the year this past weekend when they were able to claim a 1-1 draw away to Polokwane City.
Following defeats at the hands of Bidvest Wits and Cape Town City, the draw against Rise and Shine came as a relief for coach Stanley Menzo and his team.
However, Chiefs will present another tough challenge: the Soweto giants are top of the log following the weekend’s results and have picked up five successive victories in the league.
Steve Komphela’s men have truly shrugged off their poor early season form and will arrive in the Mother City full of the confidence which comes with being considered title contenders.
Ajax will be hoping for a different outcome compared to the last time they faced Chiefs: the Glamour Boys claimed a 2-0 win in a league clash held at Moses Mabhida Stadium back in October last year.
The venue and kick-off time of the upcoming fixture will be confirmed later today [Monday].
