Following a defeat to Maritzburg United this past weekend, Ajax Cape Town will be working hard on the training ground for their next competitive fixture.
And with the Nedbank Cup taking centre stage in South Africa’s top flight this week, the Urban Warriors will have more than a week’s break before they return to action.
Having gone out of the cup competition last month at the hands of lower league side KwaDukuza United, Stanley Menzo’s side will play no part in the last 16 round, which will see eight matches played this midweek and coming weekend.
Ajax will only return to competitive football on April 12 (next week Wednesday) when they host Highlands Park in a league match the Mother City.
The Urban Warriors will see the match against the relegation-threatened visitors as the ideal chance to get back to winning form.
Ajax have yet to win a competitive fixture in the year 2017, with their loss against Maritzburg extending their dry spell to eight matches in league and cup competitions.
