Ajax Cape Town will spend the week preparing for their Nedbank Cup last 32 clash against lower league side Kwadukuza United.
The Urban Warriors will face the KwaZulu-Natal team at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday, 11 March, kick-off at 15h00 CAT.
Stanley Menzo’s side will come into the cup match fresh from holding Absa Premiership title contenders SuperSport United to a goalless draw in Tshwane.
While Ajax will be concerned that they have yet to win a match in 2017, the chance to have a strong cup run could be the inspiration the team needs to get back to peak form.
Ajax are former champions of the Nedbank Cup, having claimed the title a decade ago (2007) when they famously defeated Mamelodi Sundowns in the final. They were also runners-up in the 2015 edition, losing on penalties to the same Brazilians side.
Last season the Urban Warriors fell out of the Nedbank Cup in the first round, suffering a 2-1 loss at home to Free State Stars. Coach Stanley Menzo and his team will be looking to go much deeper into the tournament in 2017.
